The Apple keynote was held yesterday on the computer giant’s campus and broadcast live over the Internet. Even if we miss the days when the guru Steve Jobs recited his precious words, the announcement of new products provokes collective hysteria – you only had to look at Twitter to see that.

On the program this year are two new models of the sacrosanct iPhone, the 5C and 5S. The first, available in a range of colors, is the so-called low-cost iPhone, which nevertheless costs €599 excluding package. With a plastic shell, it features a 4-inch Retina display, supports 4G and has similar functionalities to the iPhone 5.

Next, the iPhone 5S, a more powerful model than its predecessor, will be available in black, silver and, for the first time, gold. It will, of course, be even faster than the 5C, with a more luxurious design and a major new feature: Touch ID technology. The iPhone’s main button will be replaced by a fingerprint reader. No need to type in your passcode to unlock your phone or make a purchase on iTunes/AppStore – simply place your finger on the reader, which will recognize you in an instant. It’s ingenious, futuristic and, above all, prevents undesirables from rummaging through your iPhone. It will cost you a minimum of €699.

As of September 18, all iPhones (4S and above) will be running iOS7, the latest version of the operating system, which has been given a facelift for the occasion, with completely redesigned graphics and new features such as iTunes Radio and AirDrop, which lets you exchange files between Apple-branded devices. This update will be available next week free of charge on iTunes – can’t wait!
