Designed by Christophe Pillet in former workshops, the Galerie Pierre-Alain Challier, located in the heart of the Marais district, a stone’s throw from the Musée Picasso, has been at the heart of the contemporary art gallery circuit since 2007. With 4 different floors, 8 to 10 temporary exhibitions are presented each year. At the same time, a select group of exclusive limited editions is on permanent display, staged in the manner of a “Cabinet de Curiosité contemporain”.
The gallery also promotes the work of young French and foreign artists (Alexandra Loewe, Sasha Panyuta, Nicholas Turner…), and publishes several exhibition catalogs each year.
To support artists’ work and share it with a wider audience, “hors les murs” exhibitions are organized in partnership with museums, foundations or public and private collections.

The gallery presents and ensures the continuity of the famous art collections of the former ARTCURIAL gallery, conceived since 1975 with the major artists of the 20th century, from Sonia Delaunay to Arman, from Man-Ray to Jean Cocteau or Zao Wou-Ki, Jean-Pierre Raynaud or Robert Combas.
Its collections are constantly enriched by exclusive new works, including those by designer Hubert Le Gall, object-sculptures by Nicola L. a trunk by Jean-Michel Othoniel, as well as prints and sculptures by Yayoi Kusama and Bernar Venet, paintings by Nils-Udo and Alecos Fassianos, and the photographic work of François Rousseau. . .

From September 7, it will present a two-part retrospective by Kimiko YOSHIDA

Part 1:
WHO IS KY?
Statuary, Painting, Photography
from September 7 to 22

A tribute to the history of art, Kimiko changes her identity and slips her Geisha face into a bust of Louis XIV or Marie-Antoinette, or slips into the models of painters, becoming Klimt’s Athena or Picasso’s Torero…

2nd part:
WHY VENICE?
Glass sculptures and mirrors
October 5 to 26

Also new, Kimiko modernizes colored glass in Murano to create “imageless” mirrors, blowing out her words and giving shape to the molding of her own skull, like so many modern vanities, where the dot and the comma hide identity…
