AMI Alexandre Mattiussi Spring/Summer 2014

Alexandre Mattiussi is a favorite with buyers and the international press alike, for good reason: his approach to men’s fashion strikes the right balance between current demand and a certain fantasy.

Its clothes are wearable, of course, but what makes Ami a remarkable brand is the overall attitude of its presentations and the house’s attitude to its clientele.

Far from the stress and ceremony of the runway, Alexandre Mattiussi presents his collections with a certain miss en scène. This season, Ami takes us on a journey (like many of his designer peers) and we watch the models wait in an airport for a plane that never arrives.

What makes this staging so magical is the fact that it seems to echo a real-life situation where, on their departure from Milan, many models found themselves stuck waiting for seven hours at Malpensa airport due to material damage to their plane.

What makes the rehearsal fun is that the interpretation of the right wardrobe in this case was right on target. Quality clothes with a preppy touch. Suits, V-neck sweaters and shirts make up the bulk of the collection.
Ami is having fun with prints again this season, with a touch of florals and tartan.

Fourteen silhouettes were presented. From good-quality basics to more whimsical pieces, we had the opportunity to see color, another remarkable trait of Alexandre Mattiussi who never limits himself in terms of experimentation and is in a way one of his signatures.
