SIIAM moves upmarket!

2For its second edition, the Salon International de l’Architecture, de l’Habitat et Jardins en Montagne kept all its promises! From June 20 to 23, 2013, professionals and the curious alike were able to discover many new products and qualitative innovations in mountain living, all previewed at major international trade shows.

Created in 2011 by architect Isabelle Dieu, SIIAM has established itself as a unique show in Europe thanks to its original, innovative and high-end positioning. A biennial event that enables professionals to engage and reflect on how to evolve mountain living. Once again this year, the SIIAM showcased a wide range of new products and innovative concepts, drawing on the art of living and the diversity of this region, in full compliance with the Grenelle Environment Round Table. 4

For this new session, the town of Megève welcomed 180 exhibitors and 230 prestigious brands over an area of 10,000m2. A major event to showcase architecture, materials and decoration, as well as spas and gardens, where 70% of exhibitors came from abroad, all of whom praised the show’s upscale positioning! All in all, over 7,000 visitors-buyers were delighted by the quality of the new projects presented, as well as by the many original conferences featuring prestigious guests such as architects Jean-François Grange (Head of Bâtiments de France), Arnaud Duteil (Director of CAUE 74) and Karolos Chanikian (founder of Greenways Hellas). Jean-François Aufrère of Jacuzzi comments: “Compared with the first edition, we had a lot more requests for the mountain market, and the public came from all over France. We’re very satisfied with the contacts we made, the show has moved upmarket, and our balance sheet is positive.

A highlight for the Mégevanne population, charmed by the commitment of the many exhibitors, who are keen to take into account the multiple challenges posed by the mountain territory in order to write the landscapes of tomorrow…
