A pause, a breath, an original awareness of the present and the scarcity of what surrounds us. This is the proposal that photographer Patrick Richard invites us to for his photo exhibition [O2] at the Compagnie Française de l’Orient et de la Chine. After the Kendra Gallery in Bali, then Singapore and Thailand, the French artist returns to familiar territory to poetically carry us away in his unique photographic universe.
For the occasion, Patrick Richard presents a singular and poetic selection of works depicting Man, men, their environment and the very special interaction that can exist between them. It’s a metaphysical, sensory stroll, where the image seems to become a verbal imprint, where the gaze rests with curiosity, against a backdrop of the ever-present question of becoming. We observe solar beings, poised between heaven and earth, celestial witnesses to what exists and yet touched by the grace of an abstract genesis, equally multiple yet forming one.
The artist gently draws us into this suspended universe, offering the mind and senses a delightful quantum and dreamlike blend. A true artistic experience, the exhibition appears as a beautiful story told with rhythm and voluptuousness, where everyone is free to let their unconscious dance to a composition that has no time.
