3 years ago in Marrakech, Robert Merloz created Marock’n Roll, a collection of bags and accessories, which he is now presenting in an international version.

The richness of local craftsmanship and the aesthetic inspirations of the famous “red city” convinced Robert to set up his workshop in Guéliz.
It’s the decorative lines of traditional Moroccan art, and more broadly of the entire Arab world, that Robert wanted to sublimate for this first collection. Zelliger and chemmassiat motifs are used on sophisticated, high-end cabats, bags, pouches and envelopes.
The laying technique, similar to that of yesteryear, is the same borrowed here. Each piece of leather is placed by hand. This craftsmanship makes each piece unique and precious.
The materials and design reflect the ancestral know-how of leatherwork and saddlery. The handles of the bags resemble horse bridles, and the choice and naming of leather colors evoke the dresses of trotters, paying homage to the horse-drawn carriages of Marrakech’s famous Jemaa El Fna square.
Distributed in the city’s most prestigious boutiques (Hôtel Le Mamounia, Les Jardins Majorelle, L’Amanjena, La Sultana, Le Concept Store 33 Majorelle, Akbar and Moor) Marock’n Roll has already won over Parisian and international customers.
The brand will be present from July 6 to 9, 2013 at Who’s Next in Paris, Porte de Versailles.
