Known as a member of the French band Adam Kesher, he is now making a name for himself as a photographer.

Yann Stofer releases his first collection of photographs, “A house is not a home”, published by Kaiserin in Paris. The editing process was long and painful: how could a story that had been running for ten years be put together in 140 pages? The result is 53 color and 13 black & white images, carefully selected from a thousand snapshots. A member of the French group Adam Kesher, Yann unveils his personal work and shares his silver sensibility with us. Numb bodies, cramped in vans on snow-covered American highways. Unmade beds, full ashtrays and empty bottles, reliefs of wild after-parties. An accumulation of memories that, instead of fading, end up composing a picture that gives greater strength to the present. A milestone in Yann’s work, complemented by a magnificent preface by Julien Perez.

His work is above all “emotional, with no preparation. I just wander around with friends, looking for places I didn’t know”.

His photographs are based on his desire to capture a moment in time, while giving it a sense of movement. It’s this extreme, almost disturbing realism that gives his shots their power. Whether in the suburbs, on tour, or with women, Yann knows how to tell a story, his story.
