Drappier is a traditional Champagne house that produces champagne with character. It relies on gentle pressing to extract only the heart of the cuvée.
Cuvée Grande Sendrée takes its name from an ancient a plot of land covered in ashes after the fire that ravaged Urville in 1838. A spelling mistake had slipped into the recopying of the land register, it was an “S” that distinguishes this cuvée today. Reproduction of a bottle from the 18th century. in the Urville cellars, the Grande Sendrée is stirred entirely by hand. Exclusively vinified in great years, the Grande Sendrée brings together and the techniques used, a unique know-how for the elaboration of a great Champagne wine.
On tasting, citrus and red fruit mingle with spicy notes. The whole is both crisp and vinous, taut and subtly gourmand. The elegance of finely macerated Pinot Noir and the freshness of Chardonnay give this 2005 cuvée finesse and balance. Surprising!
