Fendi Uomo Fall/Winter 2013/2014

Fendi, the iconic Italian fashion house, presented its men’s collection (Uomo) at Milan Fashion Week. Thirty-seven looks and as many ideas and research to make the Fendi man elegant and handsome as a god.

The colors are organic, nature-oriented. Impeccable tailoring, not without a dose of facetiousness (I’m thinking here of shirts with gradient tartans and matching ties), layering is de rigueur at Fendi and goes hand in hand with the most refined mixes of materials and textures (even on shoes!).

Coats are long and varied, from two-material parka to long coats, with fur collars and hoods bringing out the color in the lining.

Skins are very much in evidence at Fendi, on everything from sheepskin bucket bags to fur boots and leather pants. Many wool sweaters are also noteworthy.

Fendi is still one of the epitomes of Italian chic, and the collection wouldn’t be complete without a suit. Whether in a relaxed or corporate style (I’m thinking here of the gray suit with square prints), it can be found throughout the show in a total look or as a wink.
