Balmain, the renowned French house whose creations are always halfway between jewelry and clothing, also presented its men’s collection during menswear week.

And when you know the brand’s identity, you can’t help but be amazed by this fall/winter 2013/2014 collection.

The Balmain man is young, trendy and chooses to wear clothes with clean, close-fitting cuts. There’s no room for volume at Balmain: the body and silhouette are sublimated, and the outfits are the showcases.

A Hispanic style akin to traditional matador costumes, some outfits are adorned with gold and embroidery. The most sober looks are marked at the waist and in warm tones: burgundy and chocolate in particular.

The Balmain man also stands out for his appreciation of quilted materials, as seen on down jackets with sweater-style wool collars, but also on a perfecto, monochrome shades and sarouel-type pants.

The highlight of this collection is the set of outfits with wide belts, a token of assertive luxury.
