Viktor & Rolf, genius creators who don’t hesitate to shake up the codes of contemporary fashion to create their own rules of the game, this season the Dutch design duo are making their mark with a literary inspiration. Inspired by Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, our two designers found the inspiration behind their men’s collection.

Monochrome, this collection leaves no room for color. Viktor & Rolf’s outfits are smart, sophisticated and leave no room for the superfluous. Black, white and gray are the three components, the holy trinity on which this clothing line is based.

Sharp silhouettes and a mix of materials are found throughout the collection, and lined pieces are also present. Prints are the most obvious dose of whimsy in this collection: XL or mini format, the Monsieur print, created in partnership with Dutch artist Piet Parra, another print in the shape of glasses and finally a print depicting a parachutist, are rightly injected throughout the garments.

Armed for his journey to the center of the earth, Mr. Viktor & Rolf is also decked out in metallic hues right down to the soles: shoes, whether casual or dressy, are the embodiment of this inspiration.
