KEN OKADA AND THE LUTETIA

Ken Okada has entered into a partnership with the Lutetia. With Fashion Week just around the corner, the establishment is embarking on an adventure dedicated entirely to fashion.

Already noted for its connections with contemporary art, the hotel is seeking to perfect its proposals and invent a French luxury where fashion meets art. Ken Okada, a Japanese designer trained at Bunka Fashion College, has been transcending the art of cutting since 2001. Airy textiles and precise cut-outs magnify the body. They delicately reveal the body without annihilating it. On the contrary, each piece seems designed to allow it to move perfectly, to move with elegance. From now on, a special silk outfit will be placed in the 5 most representative Signature Suites of the Lutetia. An unusual gift for guests to discover, plus the chance to meet the designer in her boutique on rue de la Chaise. There’s no doubt that this project will appeal to customers with a keen aesthetic sense.

The Collection was revealed at a fashion show. The event, Dreamlike in Paris, was almost a happening, as Myriam Kamionka, titular of the Paris Opera, interpreted the clothes while dancing.

Undeniably, his graceful, ethereal approach is a perfect match for Ken Okada’s work. Lightness of textiles, transparencies… The osmosis is also perceptible in the fluidity of the dancer’s movements.

The garment envelops the body, veiling it but never hindering it. The synergy is optimal.
