Hédiard unveils its new vintages

The famous Madeleine luxury house has over 1,500 references in stock in its Cave: from the most renowned prestigious cuvées to rare wines from estates with secretly guarded plots. Whether you’re an amateur, a connoisseur or a wine enthusiast, the Cave Hédiard is full of great wines to find, as well as new discoveries of rare French and foreign wines to share. Each wine from the Cave Hédiard, whether unexpected, for everyday consumption or more exceptional, has been selected according to its own process.

From September onwards, the House will present an exclusive selection of new Hédiard wines and champagnes, with some precious and rare cuvées offered as limited editions. This delightful prestige collection is the fruit of the choices and votes of the Selection Committee, which travels all over France meeting producers, tasting their wines and finally choosing the most original and notorious aromas of their appellation. It embodies the spirit and know-how of the House: selecting and seeking out the rarest wines, vintages from both renowned and lesser-known estates, supplying the Cave with the primeur wines that will be the most sought-after tomorrow… In their selection, Hédiard’s Cellar Master and Sommeliers, driven by their passion, seek out emotion, encounters, the balance of each wine, the expression of a terroir and that of a man, exceptional know-how that respects the environment and wine-lovers. The advent of these new vintages is celebrated by a new sober, refined and racy packaging. New labels have been created in homage to these wines, new jewels in an exceptional cellar rich in variety.
Review of 3 favorites.

The House’s new Margaux comes from the 2.9 hectares of vines located in the Margaux commune, mainly the one next to the Château les Eyrins winery. An authentic Margaux whose color and nose are particularly characteristic of the famous appellation: some of the most delicate wines in Bordeaux, with a fragrant bouquet and remarkable elegance from a deep Graves terroir.

Beaune 1er cru Hédiard was awarded the Grand Gold medal at the Concours Mondial du Pinot Noir in Switzerland. 100% Pinot Noir, this fine Beaune wine from 80-year-old vines is harvested by hand in 20 kg perforated crates: an exceptional practice that guarantees meticulous selection of the grapes and their proper preservation from the vine to the press. A choice that requires more skilled hands and more time, but whose contribution to the quality of the juice is highly appreciable and sets it apart from its neighbors. The 1st sorting takes place in the vineyard, the second on the sorting table when the harvest is received in the winery, where the grapes are 100% destemmed but not crushed, and then placed whole by gravity.
Powerful, Beaune HEDIARD has excellent ageing potential. It was gravity-bottled in September 2010. Its tasting will surprise connoisseurs of the appellation and enthusiasts of the grape variety.

The House’s Sauternes is also excellent. Composed of 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is made from a selection of concentrated selections from Château Les Justices, chosen for their aromatic qualities: the result is a particularly fruity wine with citrus notes characteristic of botrytis, while retaining an unexpected lightness.
This wine is vinified and aged in stainless steel vats to retain all its freshness.
