Clarisse hieraix COUTURE

Clarisse Hieraix was clearly my favorite discovery of last Fashion Week, with her simple creations illustrating incredible technique. With her Haute Couture collection, the designer takes her no-frills charm to the next level.

How can I put into words the beauty of Clarisse Hieraix’s work? When you walk into her showroom, you’re in for a big slap in the face. Dresses in black or white, all in silks and lace. I joke that I found my wedding dress at Clarisse Hieraix, but it’s the truth. A play of transparency that avoids revealing everything, leaving plenty of room for suggestion or cleavage where you least expect it (in the back in particular). A play on volume and materials too. Renaissance is the theme of the collection. For example, a feather cape strongly reminiscent of an oriental birdcage is on display. But for me, the most impressive piece is this magnificent black silk dress, with a marked waist, long buttoned sleeves and pleats at the hips, creating a volume almost reminiscent of a musical instrument (a cello).

Clarisse Hieraix knows how to sublimate the female body like no one else, and I predict her destiny will be crowned with immense success, with her name alongside the greats, so marvelous are her creations. To be continued.
