Les Docks, Cité de la Mode et du Design, is inventing itself while remaining true to its original ambition:
to be a center for the promotion and demonstration of creativity, fashion and design on an international scale, as well as a new destination for Parisians and Parisians, and for
creative professionals and tourists alike.

Les Docks, Cité de la Mode et du Design, already home to the teachers and students of the Institut Français de la Mode, is strengthening its content and programming by opening a new part of its spaces to the general public on April 13, 2012.

Two Hors les Murs exhibitions at the Musée Galliera, Cristobal Balenciaga, collector of fashions
and Comme des Garçons “White Drama”, set the ball rolling with elegance and excellence for a program that promises to be rich in highlights throughout the year. They are joined by boutiques and spaces dedicated to young fashion designers driven by the avant-garde, such as Yiqing Yin, Pigalle and Bleu de Paname. For design, around a new Silvera Outdoor, two galleries simply named Magasin M1 and M3 will showcase the collections of young French and international publishers in one, and in the other, thematic exhibitions designed by Chantal Hamaide, publishing director of Intramuros magazine, the first of which is entitled “Série Noire”.

The bold architectural design by Jakob+MacFarlane is a strong signal of a destination with a bright future, and of its vocation to become an attractive place to live for all Parisians, as well as for international creative talent. “Inspired in particular by the flow of the Seine, the project transforms the industrial building by revealing its concrete framework.
With the opening of Café Praliné, a tea room developed by the Pompon team, the venue has become the next Parisian night spot. In June, Wanderlust opens, and from June to September, the Baron team and the Moon Roof restaurant team will host other night spots. The capital’s only balcony overlooking its river is thus gradually confirming its vocation as one of the showcases of Paris Capitale de la Création. An alchemy of inspiration, celebration and encounters that makes Les Docks, Cité de la Mode et du Design the new must-see destination on the banks of the Seine.
