For his second Issey Miyake collection, Yoshiyuki Miyamae unveils an astonishing new technology: steam streach. The show opens: on racks hang dresses, simple squares of raw fabric. Suddenly, on contact with the steam skilfully directed by the ironers, the fabric shrinks, giving life to lovely feminine curves!
The rest is more conventional, with the poetic theme “Mineral Miracle.” The knitwear is thick and mineral-colored in shades of ochre, gray, chocolate and blue. The cuts are carefully crafted and cleverly layered, without ever magnifying the silhouette. Yoshiyuki Miyamae asserts the house’s style: honeycomb jackets and giant patchwork turtlenecks are combined with more classic models, always in heat-shrink fiber, sometimes assembled with wool. The collection closes with three-quarter coats in variegated nylon.
An original collection with warm colors in which to assert yourself, and other cooler colors but with cut-outs and soft materials in which we already dream of curling up.
