Cengiz Abazoglu Couture – Paris Fashion Week Couture
Cengiz Abazoğlu has been presenting her couture collections in Paris since January 2009 during Couture Week.
Cengiz Abazoğlu works with volumes, asymmetrical cuts and mysterious shapes. The ever-precious materials wrap around the body or simply glide, fluid as water, to create a refined, contemporary silhouette, imbued with femininity. Organza unravels, crepe drapes, silks pleat, chiffons adorn themselves with sequins and shantungs and taffetas play with tormented interlacing and ribbons. Cocktails, special evenings… time for sparkle: everything is crystal and glass light. Colors borrowed from gemstones play with crystal, which oxidizes for summer.
This Spring/Summer 2012 collection, dedicated to Charles Frederick Worth, is a modern-day fairy tale. Geometric volumes combine gracefully with cuts inspired by the 40s, or Gothic-inspired shapes.
Nude colors, matte blacks, intense golds enhanced with semi-precious stones or crystal, sign a resolutely contemporary silhouette and elegance.
Cengiz Abazoğlu, a designer born in Istanbul, discovered his interest in fashion at a very early age.
Drawing on his experience and pronounced taste for refinement and luxury, he presented his first Couture collection in Istanbul in 1989. A highly acclaimed collection dedicated to a modern, contemporary woman, celebrating asymmetrical lines.
He quickly asserted his style, imbued with a fine mastery of Couture, and each of his shows became a must-see event on his country’s fashion scene. In 2006, as an essential complement to his universe, he launched his own line of high-end ready-to-wear, sold today in the reference boutique of Abdi Ipekçi, Istanbul’s fashion and luxury street.
Since September 2011, Cengiz Abazoglu has been present in the USA in Los Angeles and has already dressed several American celebrities.
