Back to your future at Disneyland Paris

This year, the theme park celebrates its 20th anniversary, and to mark the occasion it has called on the services of Irina Werning. This unheralded Argentinian photographer is the creator of the “Back to the future” project, which has already caused quite a stir. Irina has mastered the art of reproducing old photographs of children, now grown up, in an identical manner. Subjects, poses, lighting and even clothing are used to create a multitude of diptychs that are both moving and amusing.
For its anniversary, Disneyland Paris decided to combine the photographer’s concept with the history of the park and the many souvenir shots taken by its millions of visitors every year. And so “Generation Disneyland: Back to your future” was born.
From January 5 to March 31, anyone wishing to submit a photo can do so via the park’s Facebook page, with the chance of having it reproduced by the photographer for a photo shoot. For the occasion, Irina will have specially designed adult-sized children’s clothes, so that the lucky winners can relive their childhood memories of Disneyland for a few moments.
And it doesn’t stop there, either: an anniversary photo exhibition will be staged this summer to show fans of Disneyland Paris, past and present, the fruits of their labours.
