BERLIN CALLING BY ELEVEN PARIS S/S 2012

Eleven Paris’ spring-summer 2012 collection is inspired by Berlin and its history, in a style that is at once formal, rebellious and casual.
The brand offers five collections, two for women and three for men, which clash and overlap, like this city at the crossroads of styles, where freedom-loving youth evolves in silent gender harmony.
Five collections, five cosmopolitan styles inspired by the city’s history and the young people who have made it what it is.
For men, “Kamerad-Calling” is an apology for basics, favoring sober colors and fitted cuts in a modern, urban style. It’s also an opportunity to rediscover must-have items such as the trench coat, the Barbour jacket and the parka, rethought in a more youthful style. Uniforms are the order of the day, with prints concealed in lapels. YOUNG AND ELEGANT
“Black Block-Calling” breaks codes to invent new ones. Much darker, this collection aspires to audacity and surprise, as uniforms have suffered the ravages of revolt and are worn draped and torn. It’s also the return of the leather perfecto, with raw, reworked and worn materials. The Black Bloc are engaged in an urban yet resolutely fashionable battle.
“Reckless-Calling” abolishes codes like a crumbling wall, as colors and patterns are displayed and mixed. Out of social shackles, joy is worn right down to the clothes, youth emancipates itself and shows it off.
For women, the “Mist’History” collection was inspired by Berlin’s darkest hours, while aspiring to a brighter future. Bangs, straps and washed fabrics are the order of the day. Polaroid atmosphere, de-saturated colors, oversize for a young, casual look.
“A-Calling” was built on the fearless, surprising and sexy character of Berlin, then the cradle of underground culture. Shoulders are bared, colors and graphic patterns confront the darkness of night. Cuts are streamlined and closer to the body, the “Ac-Calling” woman is assertive and refined.
