Inspired by Paradis for its distinctive way of defining the elegance of a cognac, this Paradis Impérial boasts even greater subtlety. Its shimmering, barely amber color already suggests this… But it’s on the palate that Paradis Impérial’s extreme elegance is revealed. The delicacy of its gourmet notes is gently offered to the palate, drawing all its subtlety from the careful ageing of the eaux-de-vie that make it up. Matured in ancient casks, they have retained their light hue, untouched by the wood. Aromas of jasmine, orange blossom and floral notes open up on the palate, spiced with smoky accents that balance the freshness of the floral aromas. The length on the palate is surprising, given the absolute delicacy of its contours. Only the rarest cognacs can have such persistence.
“ A cognac like no other, so fine, elegant and subtle ” (Yann Fillioux, Hennessy Master Blender).

In the course of his work, Hennessy’s Master Blender set himself no creative boundaries. The only things that mattered were “elegance and great subtlety, for these constitute absolute rarity”. The Master Blender therefore drew from Hennessy’s reserves some of the finest eaux-de-vie of the 19th century, not hesitating to call on a very large number of them, despite their unique character. Impérial in tribute to Empress Maria Feodorovna, who in 1818 ordered a unique cognac for her son Alexander I, to celebrate his forty-second birthday…
To set off this exceptional tribute, Hennessy wanted to create a unique decanter. Designer Stéphanie Balini came up with a new, faceted shape, topped with a crystal cabochon whose collar, plated with a layer of 18-carat gold, echoes imperial ceremonial costumes. Each decanter is unique and numbered.
