Axelle Laffont and Vincent Desagnat, the two ex-entertainers of the small screen, are on stage.

Needless to say, any journalist visiting the venue is bound to be curious, and eager to pass an exam.
Arriving 10 minutes early, the small basement auditorium is already packed. In the audience that evening was Bruno Solo: the show’s producer. Let’s get down to the story: the play plunges us into the interstices of married life. Cigarettes are a pretext for evoking the power relations between two people who love each other. After all, a couple is not a democracy.
Through several chronological sequences, we follow the blossoming of a beautiful love story. Vincent Desagnat and Axelle Laffont are often funny. They’re digging a well-trodden path in which they’ve already proven themselves. Emotional moments are less successful.
All in all, a good time is had by all, and the dialogue is well-crafted. Lots of laughs. Special mention must go to the direction by Edouard Molinaro, one of the world’s greatest film directors, who delivers a fast-paced play.
