Following the success of the Mademoiselle armchairs designed by Starck and upholstered in original fabrics, the partnership between Kartell and Moschino continues for summer 2011.
The colorful, lightweight BowWow ballerinas are made entirely of interlaced plastic, with the characteristic Moschino bow. The ballerinas are available in white, red and black, plus a wide range of summer colors, peach, geranium, yellow, wood green and periwinkle blue, and a two-tone version with black vamp and white bow.
BowWow”, the fruit of Kartell’s evolution in the study of surfaces and textures, are made by the design brand using a made-in-Italy industrial molding process in top-quality, non-toxic and 100% recyclable thermoplastic technopolymer.
The synergy between Kartell and Moschino has its origins in the creative and experimental identity of the two Italian brands, which led them to work together on projects ranging from design to fashion and vice versa. From this reciprocal influence were born the ‘BowWow’, a design object but also an accessible and fun fashion product,” comments Rossella Jardini, Creative Director at Moschino.
Lorenza Luti, Marketing and Retail Director at Kartell, comments: “This fruitful union between Kartell and the world of fashion, begun a few years ago with the “Mademoiselle à la mode” project, in which leading fashion brands (including Moschino) interpreted Starck’s iconic armchair, now finds the perfect partnership in the label which, more than any other, is close to Kartell for its characteristics such as irony, lightness, imagination and color.
The Moschino / Kartell collection has been on sale since January 2011 in top multi-brand boutiques, Moschino monobrand outlets and Kartell flagstores worldwide, priced at 85 euros.
