LACOSTE celebrated the new Holiday Collector series of polo shirts designed by Jonathan Adler at a special evening event on Friday June 24 in the Galerie Sud and the magnificent garden of the Petit Palais. The polo shirts designed by Jonathan were presented on mannequins who played mixed doubles on a tennis court set up for the occasion in the Galerie. Under the arcades lining the garden, guests could play ping-pong, Jonathan’s favorite sport, with rackets adorned with the same motifs as the polo shirts, before enjoying a dazzling live performance by Yelle.

Guests at the event, held during Paris men’s fashion week, received a fan designed by Jonathan Adler for LACOSTE, the ideal accessory for keeping out the heat of the catwalk.

For the catering side, mini-burgers, mini-shot-dogs and some adorable sweet cupcakes were served, not forgetting the Cosmo Bar, which offered a New York atmosphere in the heart of the City of Lights.

Each year, LACOSTE invites a designer to imagine a new model of its famous L.12.12 polo shirt for its Holiday Collector series. Previous editions have been created by British design stars Tom Dixon and Michael Young, the Campana brothers from Brazil, and, more recently, Chinese sculptor Li Xiaofeng.
This year, for this sixth series, LACOSTE asked American designer Jonathan Adler to create a chic, unique polo shirt, complete with packaging. An object that makes you wonder whether you’d rather give it as a gift or receive it yourself…

The name Jonathan Adler, whose designs combine vivid colors and stunning patterns, immediately evokes the perfection of artistry and a unique creative sense. His contemporary yet timeless style-which he himself aesthetically describes as “Happy Chic”-is as vivid and original as he is. His company, dedicated to creating collections that span the ages, has adopted the motto “we don’t make things your heirs won’t fight for”.

For the sixth LACOSTE Holiday Collector series, Jonathan created one-of-a-kind polo shirts, bringing a modern touch to classic woven fabrics, a technique he often applies to his own creations.
“I love the way LACOSTE lives itself, in a totally modern way while cultivating a certain nostalgia,” commented Jonathan. With this model created for the Holiday Collector series, I wanted to recapture the chic, sporty spirit of the American country clubs of the 1960s.”
