Dear readers, partners, press offices and friends.
We’ve just discovered that an impostor has been posing as a journalist from the Luxsure editorial team for several weeks, canvassing Paris press offices for their events and fashion shows. Sometimes even inviting friends of his who were usurping the names of other Luxsure journalists. It seems we weren’t the only ones in this situation.
Identity theft is a serious offence. In France, identity theft prior to 2011 is, in certain circumstances, a criminal offence punishable by 5 years’ imprisonment and a fine of 75,000 euros, as specified in article 434-23 of the French Penal Code.
Quite apart from the flattering aspect of having achieved such recognition as to make the little jokers want to physically take your place, this event came as a real shock to the editorial team.
In the three years of our existence, we have worked with the utmost respect and humility to forge lasting links with the press offices and houses with which we collaborate. For us, the idea of a Lambda person posing as one of our journalists and sullying the name and work of our editorial team is unbearable. We are therefore going to lodge a complaint.
Here is the email address of this usurper: [email protected] (who is obviously not our journalist Jean François Polaire).
We invite you to contact us if you are contacted by this usurper.
My fellow bloggers and journalists, I urge you to be extremely cautious, because it could happen to you.
Best regards
