Urban and contemporary fashion event The Brandery, is preparing its next show where fashion, creativity, culture and busines s come together under the slogan “The Hot Spot”. Brand exhibitions, exhibitors, fashion shows, competitions and other activities will make this a unique space where all aspects of fashion are brought to the fore. Luxsure will be on hand to bring you live updates from the show.

From July 13 to 15, Hall 8 of the Montjuïc exhibition center will host the 5th edition of The Brandery, organized by Fira de Barcelona, with the support of Barcelona City Council. It will present a 360° vision of urban fashion, with initiatives to be discovered in the trendy new space “Brandtown a Fashion Xperience”. Among them, an exhibition entitled “Fashion & Sport” will present objects from the world of sport by famous national and international designers such as Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Custo Barcelona, among others.

The Brandery’s Catwalk and other activities
Following the success of the Winter 2011 edition, which featured brands such as Phard, Oxmo and Nous Vous, the catwalk will once again take center stage in the “Fashion Show” area. The catwalk will feature a new, striking and spectacular structure, where brands will showcase their creations.

The show will also give attending brands the chance to take part in “speed dating” between industry leaders and buyers, such as El Corte Inglès, and many other national retailers and international distributors.
Students from Barcelona’s top fashion schools will be invited to take part in the show’s first-ever “New Talent Contest”, which aims to highlight the creativity of young designers. A panel of fashion journalists and industry entrepreneurs will select the best new talent from each school, who will win the opportunity to present their collection on the show catwalk, as well as an internship with a prestigious fashion retailer.

Schools will also take part in an “On-The-Store-Front” showcase exhibition, creating innovative spaces from elements created by students. “The Laundry”, the event-based ideas laboratory, will host debates on fashion, creativity and industry. Trend-setters, economists, industry professionals and experts will take the floor during round tables and conferences. This area will also be the venue for the bloggers’ rendez-vous.

The other areas are “The Trade Show”, where brands are divided into “Denim”, “Fashion” and “Sport & Street”, depending on the products on display; the second area, “The City”, presents fashion-related activities in the city, and this year expands its horizons. For the first time, the show extends to other cities through the “Windows on Summer Holidays” competition, which will also be open to stores in Madrid, the Balearic Islands and other parts of Spain.
