The legacy

Istituto Marangoni was founded in Milan in 1935.

For the past 75 years, Istituto Marangoni’s objective has been to train highly qualified professionals for the needs of fashion and design companies.
Istituto Marangoni has thus played a significant role in the development and growth of the Italian fashion industry, notably by constantly adapting its programs, training young creative talents, and providing immediate responses to the demands and constraints of the market.

Istituto Marangoni offers Basic courses (3-year programs), one-year intensive courses, and Advanced Cycles.

Since its creation, Istituto Marangoni has trained 3 generations of students, totalling over 35,000 professionals, and has proved to be the “launching pad” for many world-renowned talents, including Franco Moschino, Domenico Dolce (Dolce & Gabbana), Maurizio Pecoraro, Alessandro De Benedetti, Stefano Guerriero, Alessandra Facchinetti, Rafael Lopez and Alexandro Palombo.

The Marangoni Method: professional teaching and international spirit

Istituto Marangoni’s aim is to train professionals for the fashion and design industry by developing students’ technical skills and creativity. The institute offers a unique teaching methodology in which today’s professionals train tomorrow’s professionals. What’s more, our students have the unique opportunity to actively participate in special projects organized in association with the world’s leading fashion and design brands. Istituto Marangoni students have recently collaborated with Harrods, Chivas Regal, Fendi, Guess, Glamour, Elle, Vogue, Giorgio Armani, Lonsdale, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Nokia, Mattel, Fiorucci and L’Oréal, among others.

Over 2,400 students from 92 countries meet at Istituto Marangoni every year, each bringing their own unique sensibility to the table, creating a cosmopolitan atmosphere vital to the development of the creative talent of the future.

An international spirit and a focus on the profession have always been the two main assets of the Marangoni method. These values are passed on by our students, our programs, our teachers and our campuses.

Istituto Marangoni has three campuses, each located in an area of the city bustling with fashion and design: near Via Montenapoleone in Milan, avenue Raymond Poincaré in Paris – in the heart of the 16th arrondissement and Parisian fashion, and finally Fashion Street (E1) in London, in the heart of bustling Shoreditch.

Istituto Marangoni offers all its students the opportunity to study and live in each of the three great capitals of fashion and design: Milan, capital of ready-to-wear and interior architecture and decoration; Paris, capital of haute-couture and contemporary design; and London, capital of street-fashion and new art forms.
