On February 7, Malene Birger presented her latest Autumn Winter collection at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Denmark’s leading contemporary art venue.
After the success of her spring/summer 2011 collection entitled “THE WOMAN”. Malene Birger continues to build on her success.
Winter will see “THE MAN”. The story of a man fascinated by women who wear elements of masculine outfits while retaining their charm.
More intimate, the men’s wardrobe takes center stage. “THE MAN” is the name of the game.
From English classics to a more Andalusian closet, Birger plays with codes.
The watchword: elegance!
During winter 2012, the Birger woman is having fun. She dips into her man’s clothes. She pulls the line on boyfriend jeans, wifebeaters and white T-shirts.
She adopts a distinguished rather than casual look. Suits in delicate materials, shirts with cufflinks and the essential scarf under a jacket.
However, she has not forgotten her femininity.
Rhinestone mini dress with prominent shoulders, light blouse delicately revealing curves. Fine belts, ties, pointed shoes with high heels.
It’s all in the details!
Birger offers us a subtle blend of femininity and masculinity.
As far as prints are concerned, the minimum is preferred. Winter 2012 will also be calm in terms of color, with a return to the season’s classics: white, camel, brown and gray, as well as orange and red tones to liven up the range.
Away from the hustle and bustle of fashion week, the designer shows us her many talents. In her boutique on Rue Antigonade in central Copenhagen, a gigantic abstract fresco by Malene Birger decorates the walls.
Bold, chic and refined. Birger offers us timeless silhouettes, both modern and retro in cut and color. The designer has established herself as a must-have Dane.
