Shoes are a very important part of a man’s wardrobe.
Indispensable for everyday comfort, they also play an important role in the elegant appearance of our dear dandies. Choosing the right pair of shoes means thinking about the style (derbies, richelieus, moccasins, ankle boots or sneakers), color and shape (pointed, rounded…) that match their outfits, whether chic or casual.
And it’s to these modern dandies, in perpetual search of elegance and comfort, that Sergio Rossi is addressing Fall Winter 2011-2012. For his new collection, Francesco Russo, Sergio Rossi’s Creative Director, reinvents classic models with the purest respect for tradition, emphasizing semantic, tactile and material contrasts. The best of Italian craftsmanship can be found in this collection, with handmade seams and traditional Blake stitching sublimating the craftsmanship of each model.
Dandies in search of elegance will choose richelieus, fastened with a series of small hooks, to accompany them to their most formal evenings, and when they prefer the more classic suede ankle boots to accompany them on the asphalt, they’ll turn to rejuvenated models with rounded toes and innovative hand-stitched openwork toes. And if our dandy is a little more daring in his tastes, he won’t know where to turn between the new moccasins in calfskin with gold appliqué and richelieux with camouflage pony additions.
For everyday wear, we experiment with high boots featuring shearling and new fluted soles to cushion impact with the ground. As for the Canadian-inspired boots, they break the rules with their rubber lace collars and elegant tone-on-tone suede uppers. For gala evenings, the boot and tuxedo shoe are reinvented in black pony.
The color palette is sophisticated, with classic shades of brown with saturated flashes of zinc, burgundy and bottle green.
Gentlemen, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dressing up your modern feet with timeless elegance and distinction.
