On November 23, 2010 at 8:00 am, the long-awaited moment will finally arrive: the arrival of the Lanvin for H&M collection in 19 stores in France.

But it was in New York on November 18, 2010, that the collection designed by Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Maison Lanvin, was launched.
For this exceptional evening, The Pierre hotel, on 5th Avenue and overlooking Central Park, was decked out in flowers, trees and greenery to host the cocktail party and “haute couture” fashion show of the Lanvin for H&M collection. During the evening, a pop-up store set up in the hotel offered exclusive previews of the collection.

The Lanvin for H&M collection has been available since November 20 in the U.S. and Canada, and will be available in around 200 stores worldwide on November 23. Maintaining the codes of the House of Lanvin, the women’s collection is made up of dresses with perfect cuts and cheerful tones in a rainbow of flamboyant yellows, reds and pinks.

Black dresses reminiscent of the Parisian brand’s glamorous universe and accessories with playful touches complete a collection that exudes joie de vivre.
The men’s collection, designed by Lucas Ossendrijver, creator of Lanvin’s men’s line, is a complete new wardrobe of easy-to-wear clothes, with irresistible revisited classics, tuxedos that transform into everyday wear, and jogging pants that add a whole new sporty touch. As for shoes, they see life in color.

Handpicked guests such as Elisa Sednaoui, Sofia Coppola, Anna Sui, Andie MacDowell and Patrick Demarchelier and fashionistas were on hand that evening to admire Alber Elbaz’s unique, never-before-seen creations worn by famous models and fashion personalities Asia Chow, Pixie Geldof, Dree Hemingway, Olga and Anna Dello Russo. For this exceptional show, Alber Elbaz drew inspiration from the collection’s initial pieces, which he remastered into haute couture outfits that would certainly not have been out of place during Fashion Week.
” It’s so fantastic to see how imaginatively Alber Elbaz uses his haute couture creations for our exclusive fashion show in New York. Working with such an exceptionally talented designer, it’s as if we’re transported into his world for the duration of the collaboration. We’re delighted to be able to offer his masterpieces to our customers. “says Margareta van den Bosch, Artistic Advisor at H&M.
Sofia Coppola is truly convinced by this collection, telling us: ” I think Alber Elbaz is fantastic, I love his work for Lanvin, it’s so girly, joyful and assertive. This collaboration with H&M is really trendy, making it accessible to all young people, who will be able to afford and wear this collection. ”

All proceeds from the evening’s sales will be donated to UNICEF as part of the “All For Children” project supported by H&M. Pieces from the haute couture fashion show, featuring five original sketches by Alber Elbaz, have been put up for auction on the website www.lanvinforhm.com in an online auction closing at midnight on November 26, 2010.

Red carpet, stars and fashion addicts for the presentation of the collection signed by Alber Elbaz – nothing was missing, except us Parisians. So get ready on November 23, there won’t be enough for everyone.
