The historic Marché Bonsecours building hosted the 18th edition of Montreal Fashion Week from March1st to 4th!

An event that is becoming more and more popular internationally, since it has been heard in Paris, Berlin and Tokyo.

Nearly 25 fashion shows…, a lot of novelties, and yet, a lot of classic and classy creations!

A frenzy of talent, inspiration … knitting, lace … graphic lines measured, fluidity, and look soooo British … The contrasts are in the marriage of textures. Grey, black and purple dominate for women, while brown is the star for men. The whole thing is structured, fitted and sexy as can be!

A look back at 5 of the many presentations by our talented Quebec designers:

Bodybag by Jude

Judith Desjardins has long been passionate about fashion. For the next season, with « Bodybag by Jude », she has taken up THE challenge: comfortable glamour. Satin, knitwear and lace come together for a chic and light look!

Denis Gagnon

Very « couture » collection this time for Denis Gagnon! The stars of the podium? Zips, gold, copper…and, of course, leather, THE designer’s material! Short, long, curved … all a little futuristic and especially ultra feminine.

Dimitri Chris

Already a creator of unique, made-to-measure garments available in his UR IMIJ boutique on Notre-Dame Street, Dimitri Chris revisits venality in his latest collection « Master of the foxhounds ». A style with an ultra classic look that reveals a lot of ingenious hidden details.

Eve Gravel

Eve Gravel signs her 16th collection and makes us travel through time. Fluid materials, sometimes close to the body, the cuts highlight all the femininity and strength to which women aspire. Everything is there: prints, lace, sequins … The result? Originality, sobriety and perfect lines… A delicious recipe, to be consumed without moderation!

Ralph Leroy

« Manu Militari » is the second men’s collection from the hyper versatile Ralph Leroy. The innovative Haitian-born designer surprises us once again with soft lines and contrasting tones that emphasize the build of our dear adventure-seeking males!

The favorite of this 18th Montreal Fashion Week

Coccolily by Naana Tennachie Yankey

Naana Tennachie Yankey apprenticed with Marc Jacobs in New York before working under the tutelage of Eve Gravel. Today, she has created her own line « Coccolily » very bold. The « Royale: A Modern Day » collection, inspired by the royal pomp of the 17th century, plays with the transparency and lightness of tulle, satin and lace.

TELELIO CONTEST

Montreal Fashion Week was also the final of the pan-Canadian design competition organized by Télio.

25 finalists, hand-picked

A jury of six industry professionals

A theme: « Art to wear

5 winners

THE WINNER: Andu Hoan Nguyen (LaSalle College)

CLOSING AT KOKO BAR+RESTAURANT

They all chose the KOKO to close this crazy week in style: fashion professionals and fashionistas all met at the Koko where Denis Gagnon was the star in the VIP lounge and Ralph Leroy organized the « Manu Militari » after party.

Overexcited atmosphere and beautiful people guaranteed!

We can’t wait to go back!
