On the occasion of the release of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” on April 7, Printemps Haussmann organizes a temporary exhibition, inviting fashion designers to deliver their own interpretation of the wonderful world of Alice. The English Christopher Kane, Alexander McQueen, Charles Anastase or Ann Demeulemeester, all will be at the rendezvous from February 1, for this exhibition that will continue until March 13, 2010.

Martin Margiela, who, remember, had already revisited the famous slipper of Cinderella, particularly amazes us with the two outfits below, entirely handmade by the workshops of the house.
A light dress that spills over Alice’s silhouette, which is reminiscent of her tumbling down the white rabbit hole. Under the veil, a blue taffeta skirt with petals, and a draped bustier reworked as a cage that intertwines along the arm.
The Hatter who accompanies Lewis Carroll’s heroine wears a sleeveless vest made from playing cards, a nod to the cruel Queen of Hearts in Burton’s version played by his wife, Helena Boham Carter. With such a wardrobe, Alice is not at the end of her wonders.
