After the success of its first exhibition on the subject in April 2009, the Galerie de l’Instant and Julia Gragnon propose for the second time until January 30, 2010, the exhibition “Photojournalists”, presenting the work of exceptional photographers, such as :

Callie Shell - Obama
Callie Shell, whose work on candidate Obama’s campaign was published by Time Magazine, has been following the American presidential couple for three years. These intimate images show us a man with an exceptional destiny in the first moments of his campaign, but from a very human angle! With an exceptional woman at his side, one can easily become aware of the charisma of the man…

Eugene Richards
Eugene Richards, a photographer highly respected by his peers and a former member of the Magnum agency, offers through his lens a strong testimony on the reality of this world, whether it is beautiful or violent. This documentary photographer uses only black and white. Its subjects? The war in Lebanon and El Salvador, poverty, drugs, cancer, emergencies in hospitals, children with AIDS, old age, misery in Africa… These photos, of a simple approach, surprise us by the emotion that they can give rise to.

Steve McCurry
Steve McCurry, whose portrait of a young Afghan woman is world famous and a member of the Magnum agency, offers us his vision of a world made of differences. By walking his lens from country to country, he offers us true images where the faces that follow speak to us and challenge us.
Ferdinando Scianna, Italian photographer and member of the Magnum agency, whose mythical series with his favorite model, Marpessa, turned the fashion world upside down, perfectly mixing futility and lightness with the intensity of his native Sicily. Stanley Greene, a committed photojournalist, witnessed con?ict in the four corners of the world.

Paolo Pellegrin
Paolo Pellegrin, Italian photographer and member of the Magnum agency, quickly turned to photojournalism, not very satisfied with commercial photography. He is interested in subjects as varied as immigration, AIDS, terrorism and voodoo. Pellegrin has traveled the world and brought back images of the effects of war and poverty on societies. These images of combat are strong and sensitive at the same time. He has also been awarded prestigious prizes (Hasselblad Foundation Grant, Olivier Rebbot Prize…), making him one of the greatest photographers of today.
Skilfully mixing very different styles, Julia Gragnon has succeeded in her challenge: to take us closer to the reality of this world.
