Located in the heart of Saint-Estèphe, Château Lafon-Rochet, an 1855 Grand Cru Classé, was long a family estate before being bought by the Lorenzetti family at the end of 2021. The presentation of the 2022 vintage marks a new era for the estate, with Christophe Congé at the helm of general management and in collaboration with Eric Boissenot.

Lafon-Rochet’s unique terroir, composed mainly of gravel and blue clay, stretches around the château in an almost single-block vineyard. Since 2018, an ambitious agroecology program has been in place, propelling the estate towards new projects for 2022 and beyond.

The 2022 vintage was marked by extreme weather conditions, oscillating between late frosts and intense drought. These challenges tested the skills and resilience of the growers, but also revealed the true character of the terroir and the vines.

According to Christophe Congé, « 2022, a vintage of all extremes », has produced an exceptionally dense, well-balanced wine with great ageing potential. This success testifies to the mastery and expertise displayed by the Lafon-Rochet team, in perfect harmony with nature.
