PRIX LVMH 2022 POUR LES JEUNES CREATEURS DE MODE, 9E ÉDITION: LVMH announces the list of the 20 candidates selected for the 2022 semi-finals

Once again this year, the LVMH Young Fashion Creators Award confirms its success and international scope: over 1,900 candidates from all over the world applied for the ninth edition of this competition. At the close of entries, 20 young brands were selected for the semi-final. The designers come from Belgium, Canada, China, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Nigeria, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and, for the first time, Sri Lanka, expressing a great diversity of cultures and talents. We are also delighted to welcome back Palomo Spain, semi-finalists in the 2017 edition. The twenty semi-finalists will present their collections and creative worlds at a showroom in Paris from March 4 to 5. On this occasion, the Prize’s International Experts, comprising specialists from the fashion world, will vote for the eight finalists. Once again this year, the LVMH Prize will be held digitally and in a participative way on the dedicated website lvmhprize.com. From March 4 to 9, the public will also be able to discover the designers and vote for their favorite candidate.

Delphine Arnault comments: « The twenty semi-finalists are driven by an optimistic and innovative vision. They all place eco-responsibility at the heart of their creative approach: using recycled materials, working with upcycling… They are also committed to integrating a more virtuous production system, and some of them honor local and artisanal know-how. The fluidity of the men’s and women’s changing rooms is another constant of this edition. I’m delighted to welcome a number of inspiring new members to our prestigious Expert Committee this year: Camille Charrière, Eva Chen, Ben Cobb, Pierre A. M’Pelé, Mel Ottenberg, Julia Sarr-Jamois, Cindy Sherman and Eugénie Trochu. My warmest thanks to all our Expert friends who contribute every year to making the LVMH Prize a benchmark for young creative talent. All this promises an exceptional 2022 edition. The winner of the Prix LVMH pour les Jeunes Créateurs de Mode receives a stipend of 300,000 euros and one year of tailored mentoring from a dedicated LVMH team. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize also rewards a young designer with 150,000 euros and a year’s mentoring. Lastly, the Prize is awarded to three students graduating from fashion schools in 2022, each receiving 10,000 euros. The winning graduates will spend a year in the design studio of one of the Group’s Houses. They can apply on the lvmhprize.com website until March 15, 2022.
