With its iconic landmarks, frenetic pace, inimitable spirit and unmistakable style, New York is one of a kind. This fantastic megalopolis, where glamour meets bustling activity, has been a source of inspiration for Winston designers since the opening of the House’s first salon in 1932, and is now once again at the center of a new generation of legendary jewelry.
For this new collection, Winston designers have explored all the opportunities the city has to offer, taking us on an urban journey to discover the neighborhoods, colors and historic sites that punctuated Monsieur Winston’s life.
Presented in nine tableaux, the collection is a veritable declaration of love to the city that never sleeps, and a successful exercise in style in which the modern is anchored in the House’s roots to extend its heritage.
Mr. Winston’s New York reveals the brownstones of his birthplace on the Upper West Side, the color palette and organic geometry of Central Park, the lights of the Manhattan skyline, the remarkable architecture of the city’s cathedrals, lively alleyways, and the iconic 5th Avenue salon.
Each painting in the collection embodies the unique diversity and creativity of Harry Winston jewelry, revealing a resolutely different aesthetic, exceptional craftsmanship and the setting methods for which the House is renowned.
For Brownstone, which is a tribute to the extraordinary brownstones of the Upper East Side where Harry was born, baguette-cut, brilliant-cut and marquise-cut diamonds set off with colorful square gemstones are arranged in a geometric pattern, reminiscent of Manhattan’s imposing architecture. Available in two color palettes – sugar loaf turquoise with blue sapphires and a mix of blue and yellow sapphires – the collection includes a long pendant necklace and matching earrings.
Mr. Winston’s first premises, on behalf of Harry Winston, Inc. were located at 7 East 51st Street, directly opposite New York’s famous St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Every day, caressed by the rays of his extraordinary jewelry, Harry Winston could enjoy an unobstructed view of the impressive Gothic Revival building. Reflecting the perfect proportions, fabulous craftsmanship and exceptional architecture of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Cathedral necklace and earrings highlight the exquisite beauty of pear-cut emeralds and pay tribute to Winston design in its purest form.
Married in 1933, Harry Winston and his beloved wife Edna spent their early married life in New York City, where they frequented social events and Broadway shows. The Winston couple had such a passion for Broadway that, to promote his touring show, The Court of Jewels, Harry asked the biggest stars of the day to pose on the official program with his jewels. The City Lights creations reinterpret the dancing lights of Broadway with colorful diamonds and brightly colored gemstones.
Of all the bustling avenues and streets in New York, perhaps even in the world, none is more famous or more closely linked to the Harry Winston story than the prestigious 5th Avenue. Spanning nearly 10 kilometers, from Washington Square Park to Midtown, then from Central Park to the Museum Mile and all the way to Harlem, Fifth Avenue reflects the shared passions, architectural excellence and abundant style that characterize New York City. The Fifth Avenue sub-collection consists of six Haute Joaillerie sets inspired by the many elements that define this iconic thoroughfare. It captures the timeless elegance and international influences of its namesake avenue, as well as the modern sophistication of our unique jewels.
In March 1960, Harry Winston moved his company to 718 Fifth Avenue. At the time, New York architecture was marked by a minimalist aesthetic. However, Harry adopted a visionary approach: he imagined an 18th-century French-style building as the ideal showcase for his collections and to welcome his customers from all over the world. During the design phase, Harry was careful to leave no stone unturned. From floor to ceiling, each element is crafted with a perfection worthy of the Maison’s creations. 718 pays tribute to the historic charm and ravishing details of New York’s famous Harry Winston salon. The 718 Marble Marquetry collection of diamond and sapphire necklaces, earrings and rings is inspired by the black and white marble details of the famous Harry Winston atelier. The 718 Chandelier series of Haute Joaillerie creations, all in diamonds, captures the dazzling brilliance of the gilded bronze chandelier suspended from the high ceiling, which splendidly illuminates the living room. Evoking Harry Winston’s favorite cut and the seven gilded vitrines along the salon walls, the 718 Emerald Vitrine creations combine Colombian emeralds with a bouquet of baguette, marquise and brilliant-cut diamonds.
Harry Winston devoted his life to rare jewels and the development of his eponymous company. Accompanied by his principal designers, he dedicated hours to the creation of extraordinary and unique jewels. Just a stone’s throw from his office, New York’s largest park, Central Park, is a place where Mr. Winston and his designers often went to recharge their batteries. They loved to contemplate the beauty of nature to find inspiration. The Central Park Mosaic earrings, bracelets and ring are set with emeralds, sapphires, diamonds and aquamarines, arranged to recall the extraordinary landscapes of the city’s famous green space.

The train always played an important role in Harry’s life; in fact, he met his wife on it, and often used it to set off in search of the rare stones he was tracking. In the early 1900s, cast-iron eagles adorned many New York buildings, including Grand Central, the city’s famous railway station. This soaring bird is a symbol of growth and movement.

A true expression of the House’s desire to perpetuate this New York heritage, Eagle majestically reproduces the bird in flight, and remarkably combines colorless diamonds with fancy yellow ones, on pieces set with great care.
Crafted in platinum and adorned with the world’s finest gems, the New York collection will be sold exclusively in all Harry Winston salons.
