Arzu Kaprol, the Turkish designer who never ceases to impress has struck again this season with a mind-glowingly brilliant collection.
Arzu manages to capture the essence of femininity with her use of incredibly sexy leathers and skins and the structures of the looks she puts on the runway. Yet, this season, a more masculine woman is « de rigueur ». We get to see more pants than usual and suit jackets. Of course, there always a very feminine touch to them.
The show opens on dark looks, black, white and grey are the designer staples. The leather is braided into the very recognizable signature way of Arzu. Pleats and dramatic volumes are to be found on the pants. Some noticeable fur pieces are shown as well. The interesting thing is that Arzu Kaprol uses fabrics very wisely : fur gives volume to the silhouette while leather gives structure.
Fabrics mix in a very smart way even on the most masculine looks as we found some lurex touches throughout the collection. Asymmetries on the lengths of skirts and dresses create a nice surprise, but the biggest is the addition of bold colors such as a sunny and optimistic yellow, a deep and enticing blue or a flamboyant red to the color palette.
