The Grollet estate, the beating heart of Louis XIII heritage, is home to tierçons slumbering in the darkness of its cellars. These treasures contain a precious collection of historic eaux-de-vie distilled in the Grande Champagne terroir, the birthplace of Louis XIII Cognac. Each tierçon is born of French oak trees that take over a hundred years to mature. These oaks breathe their unique spirit into the eaux-de-vie, adding depth, emotion and intensity to every sip.
Baptiste Loiseau, heir to five generations of Louis XIII cellar masters, is both a guardian and a visionary. He preserves the future by perpetuating our heritage, and tirelessly passes on a timeless nectar with an eternal soul and infinite capacity for rebirth.
The discovery of a Rare Cask is a unique moment in the life of a cellar master, when he lets himself be surprised by nature and plucked by the vagaries of time. In March 2023, for the third time in history, Baptiste Loiseau discovered Rare Cask 42.1. It reveals a unique aromatic profile, with an alcohol content of 42.1%.
These 775 decanters, crafted especially for the occasion in Baccarat black crystal, are a feat that combines art and craftsmanship to an exceptional level of skill and meticulousness. Each decanter is then adorned with a gold and rhodium neck, and the ring is engraved with quatrefoil motifs in reference to the fleur-de-lis.
RARE CASK 42.1 is the first edition to be presented in a ritual box. It comes with Pillet crystal glasses decorated with black quadrilobes and a pipette for serving, adorned with a black medallion.
To celebrate the discovery of RARE CASK 42.1, an exclusive event will be held in Venice on the theme “DARE THE RARE”. Customers and media from all over the world are invited to mark this new milestone in a heritage that spans the ages.
