After making its mark in Madrid, Tim Burton’s “The Labyrinth”, a unique, immersive exhibition, takes over the Parc de la Villette from May 19, 2023. The 5,000 m² Espace Chapiteaux de La Villette is transformed into an enchanting, fantastical universe dedicated to the genius filmmaker.
“One person’s madness is another person’s reality” is the Tim Burton quote that serves as the leitmotif of this dreamlike adventure. With over 300 possible itineraries, Le Labyrinthe promises a journey into the heart of Burton’s inner world, plunging us in turn into the universe of “Alice in Wonderland”, “Mars Attack”, “Mr. Jack’s Christmas”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Beetlejuice”.
This major event, designed to delight young and old alike, presents some one hundred of the director’s original works. Along a playful, colorful and enchanting trail, visitors are invited to lose themselves in the meanders of Burton’s overflowing imagination.
Artist and director Tim Burton is unquestionably one of the most emblematic filmmakers of his generation. His unique artistic touch has left its mark on the history of cinema through films such as Beetlejuice (1988), Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Mr. Jack’s Christmas (1993), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Wednesday (2022), his latest Netflix production, which is already considered a classic among series fans.
