Balmain and Evian have announced their second exclusive collaboration, an eco-responsible capsule collection that showcases French know-how and expertise. This new collection focuses on the use of more environmentally-friendly materials and processes, and is now available on Balmain.com and in selected boutiques worldwide from April 18, 2023.
The capsule collection combines classic sportswear silhouettes with the iconic pastel tones of Balmain and Evian, with a focus on the use of sustainable materials and techniques. Olivier Rousteing, Artistic Director of Balmain, worked with his team of designers to create limited edition ready-to-wear and accessories for this second Balmain x Evian collaboration.
Materials used for the collection include GOTS-certified organic cottons, FSC-certified viscose and several GRS-certified recycled materials. The collection includes swimwear, t-shirts, hoodies, bombers, trucker jackets and jeans. Composition labels and stickers are also made from recycled polyester, and paper packaging comes from FSC-certified sustainably managed forests.
Balmain and Evian have collaborated with Solaris, an industry leader in recycling innovations, to create fashion garments from recycled plastic. They also developed a surprising version of Balmain’s popular B-It slider, made entirely from plastics generally considered unsuitable for reuse as part of the circular product life cycle.
The capsule collection also highlights traditional French know-how, with craftsmen certified as Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV). This label, created by the French government in 2006, recognizes the highest levels of craftsmanship and industrial expertise in the country.
This second Balmain x Evian collaboration demonstrates the commitment of the two iconic French brands to innovation and sustainability in the fashion world and beyond. With this collection, Balmain and Evian show that ecological awareness and creativity can coexist harmoniously, offering fashion lovers more responsible and elegant options.
