Shang Xia reinvents the traditional Chinese basket: the Lan bag. Originally woven from bamboo, it is now made from molded leather and retains its legendary sobriety.
The Lan bag is in woven calfskin. The inside of the bag is made of dipped lambskin. But the way this bag has been created is reminiscent of the humble, resistant material that is bamboo. Bamboo is also found in other iconic Shang Xia pieces, such as the “Qiao” tea set.
Soft and supple like bamboo, the Lan bag is very easy to carry. Thanks to its dimensions and short handles, it fits comfortably in the palm of the hand or the crook of the elbow.
You’ll find the Lan bag in three different shades: black, “bamboo”, or two-tone black and white. Dimensions: 22 x 26 x 8cm.
The new Shang Xia creation is available in the showroom for €2,900.
