Elegant, precious and feminine, the new watch from
Dior VIII Montaigne
takes a stand against the codes of the great Couture House with a ceramic model: beauty by day, a real treasure by night.

All the codes of the House are represented here in a single jewel. First of all, the name, Dior VIII Montaigne, a fetish number for Christian Dior, the 8 referring to the opening of his House on October 8, 1946; also to his address on avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement of Paris; then to the name of his first collection.
The watch thus plays with time, nostalgically taking us back to the early days of Christian Dior.
The name isn’t the only reference: the wrist features all the House’s codes: an architectural line, a reference to the “Bar” suit, multiple precious and light variations, all the savoir-faire of feminine elegance, day and night.
Designed with the most precious modernity, the leap back in time continues with this original model, which also pays tribute to the fundamental colors of the Christian Dior palette by evoking steel.
“Everything goes with gray, so it’s the recommended color for accessories.”Christian Dior
Gray, the emblematic color of 18th-century France and, according to the designer, the most elegant of neutral colors, adorns women’s bodies, the walls of his boutique and, under his fingers, becomes “Dior gray”.
In a skilful blend, steel gray is combined with pink, “the softest of colors” according to Christian Dior, who evokes the hue of his childhood home in Granville, Normandy, and the flowers he was particularly fond of.
Pink dominates: the pink of the gold on the seconds hand, hour markers, bezel, bracelet or case back; the pink of the translucent lacquer delicately tinting the dial; or the more frank pink of the galvanized steel dial on the Grand Bal “Plissé Soleil” model. Soft and refined, pink is sublimated by “one of the most ravishing colors” according to the couturier, pale blue, which also appears on the model.
The delicate Dior VIII Montaigne seduces with its subtly revisited femininity.
The refined horns, slimmer case and bracelet, and pyramids with softened edges discreetly renew the couture spirit of this timepiece. A “jewel” watch in a new 25 mm diameter, on a steel, rose gold or alligator strap; Dior VIII Montaigne is a daytime watch in an all-steel version, in 32 or 36 mm, with or without a simple diamond hem on a white mother-of-pearl dial, or in a two-tone version (steel bracelet and pink gold bezel or mixed bracelet). The Grand Bal version features a functional dial-side oscillating weight in gold, mother-of-pearl and diamonds, evoking the hypnotic, twirling couture motif of the pleissé soleil.
This fashionable culture permeates the Dior VIII Montaigne, from the back of the case, neat as the lining of a dress, to the refined details of the dial. Already classic, eminently chic, the Dior VIII Montaigne has the soul of an authentic Parisienne, playing with colors, juggling with references, having fun with diameters.
Like a woman and the range of possibilities in her wardrobe, the Dior VIII Montaigne alternates between the sparkle of metal bracelets and the indoctrination of alligator leather.
Watch by day, jewel by night, Dior’s new watch enchants every moment of the present.
