On Tuesday May 20, Rabih Kayrouz was awarded the insigne des arts et des lettres by Aurélie Filippetti, the French Minister of Culture and Communication.
This order is one of the four ministerial orders of the French Republic, and consequently one of its main honorary distinctions. Rabih Kayrouz, proud and moved by this recognition of his creative journey straddling two cultures, quoted the words of Josephine Baker, so dear to his heart:
“I have two loves, my country and Paris”.
