There’s an art to living Danish…

Yesterday, the Maison du Danemark on the Champs-Élysées hosted a press conference entitled “Living Danish”.

In the company of Denmark’s ambassador to France and other Danish and Copenhagen-based personalities, we were introduced to the Danish art of living and the architecture and design typical of this Scandinavian country.

First of all, Danes are very attached to their public space. Sharing and community are at the heart of everything. For example, most schools have an open courtyard where people can pass freely. Denmark is one of the countries where mutual trust is strongest. Spaces are shared, available.

Inside the Danish home, you’ll find simplicity of detail and quality of materials. Danish furniture is uncluttered, minimalist yet clean. You could call it “beauty in the ordinary”! In fact, Maison du Danemark had set up a whole installation representing a typically Danish apartment. Here are a few photos.
