For the past year, Wanderlust has been the place everyone’s been talking about. An opportunity to try out the Club’s restaurant on the weekend. Refreshing!
First of all, the location! Located on the banks of the Seine, near the Gare d’Austerlitz, it feels like a vacation. A huge outdoor area serves as a bar and dance floor, and on one side is the famous WE. The huge green structure overhanging it all is highly original. The terrace that evening was unfortunately surrounded by plastic sheeting due to the slightly chilly temperature. The floor is made up of huge parquet strips.
Next, the menu. At the moment, it’s Christophe Pelé who signs it. It remains in place until September 21. So run along! This former chef from La Bigarrade has been expressing his talent here since June 21, with a menu that always places the product at the heart of his cooking. This former Michelin-starred chef is breathing new life into his summer offering. For starters, I was tempted by raw tuna topped with a quail egg and harissa. A pure delight! For the main course, cod with cucumber. The fish was very good, but a little too salty. Lastly, for dessert, a pistachio crème brulée topped with fruit, really tasty. This menu is therefore rather minimalist, and the products are really brought to the fore. This is a club restaurant, so reservations are required. Service is sometimes a little slow, but as the place is pleasant, we take the opportunity to enjoy it and relax.
Last but not least, you can extend the evening by dancing on the terrace in a cool atmosphere. It’s one of the place’s great assets. An ideal spot for a night out with friends or a stag party. It’s a real plus. All in all, when you dine at WE, you’re sure to have a great time.
