Moncler Gamme Bleu Spring/Summer 2014

Moncler makes more than down jackets, and as such deserves its place at fashion weeks the world over (Grenoble range in NYC, Red range in Paris and Blue range in Milan). Its presentations are known for their incredible staging and collections. Gamme Bleu’s artistic director is Thom Browne, himself known for the eccentricity of his shows. This season, Thom Browne takes us cricketing at the turn of the century (the original camera being proof of this step back in time).

Dressed all in white, the models make their way to the end of the catwalk (which is in fact a vast cricket pitch) to have their portrait taken like a sports team.
The outfits are strongly inspired by cricket outfits (quilted shin guards) with a Thom Browne touch, i.e. an unexpected and ingenious element.
Here, men wear quilted skirts with preppy blazers, Peter Pan collars and ties, bringing a touch of femininity to a rather masculine sporting world.
In addition to white, this very British collection features blue and red, which stand out even more when superimposed on the green of the court’s grass.

The cast included Linus Gustin, Alex Cunha, Aiden Andrews, Rutger Schoone, Janis Qncens and Nick Offord.
