Fashion is everywhere and affects the greatest number of people…
At the height of the international fashion-week season, Lille will be hosting its own “fashion weekend” for the general public on September 13, 14 and 15. A fashion marathon created by Label Maisons de Mode.
For the fifth year running, Maisons de Mode, the label responsible for supporting, promoting and setting up young designer brands in two districts of the Lille metropolitan area, is taking the helm of this veritable fashion marathon, with the support of public bodies and private companies.
Last year, 16,000 Lille residents turned out for the event. An eclectic public made up of people of all ages and backgrounds, sharing an immoderate taste for everything to do with fashion and creation.
The idea is not to compete with what is done in the big fashion capitals during “fashion week”, reserved for professionals and a happy few. The idea is to make design accessible to as many people as possible, and to break away from the usual barriers by highlighting young, emerging labels that are making “made in nord” design shine far beyond our borders.
The aim is also to appeal to the public, to get them involved and to offer them fashion that differs from the surrounding uniformity, that of young brands that have decided to develop their activity in an ideally located region with dense networks in the textile and creative fields: (schools, manufacturers, innovative textiles, distributors and retailers…).
This is what it looked like last year.
This “fashion marathon” will kick off with two 1,500-strong fashion shows showcasing young designers from the north of France , followed by a full weekend of activities and events dedicated to fashion in all its forms.
