CoSTUME NATIONAL HOMME Spring/Summer 2014

CoSTUME NATIONAL, the Italian house led by the brilliant Ennio Capasa, is one of those brands that defines trends (rather than blindly following them). If you’re looking for something new, CoSTUME NATIONAL Homme is the place to be.

Opening with white looks (normal for the season), things quickly get darker, reminiscent at times of the house’s Fall/Winter 2013/2014 collection.
Breaking away from the mass, we find the very pronounced rock DNA of CoSTUME NATIONAL. Certain colors are of course on the agenda: a royal blue (the color of the season), yellow…but the interest of the collection is not to be found in the choice of thief’s palette alone. This season’s theme is very kitschy (‘new cowboys’), yet Ennio Capasa’s execution and the fact that he injects the rock DNA we mentioned earlier made us want to wear these creations.

Ankle boots and bib shirts are subtle nods to the main inspiration. Modernity and a rebellious attitude are more the order of the day: lots of leather (biker jackets) and, on the whole, it’s everything you want from a CoSTUME NATIONAL collection.
