A few days ago, I was trapped by a hidden camera on NT1. The hidden camera was designed to promote NT1’s new event series, Vie de Merde.

Directly inspired by real anecdotes from the successful website viedemerde.fr, VDM is a short program that brings to life all those moments of solitude, big or small, tragic or comic, that punctuate our lives.

The action takes place within a very serious administration: the DGVDM, the Direction Générale de la Vie de Merde. The DGVDM employs a team of experts to collect all the juicy or incongruous anecdotes of everyday life. The employees, each specialists in their own field, have the power to award the coveted “VDM” label and thus validate that these unlucky people do indeed have a shitty life. Shameful break-ups or hazing at work, the DGVDM will be there to listen and make official everyone’s shitty life. Viewers will be able to follow the adventures and misadventures of DGVDM staff, while enjoying the various anecdotes of the galley pros.

Can’t wait to see it in real life!
