Founded in 1933 by René Lacoste, the eponymous brand is celebrating eight decades of creation this year. To celebrate this event, the brand with the little green crocodile has teamed up with nine illustrious French houses, each of which has created a gift of its own.
Among the “made in France” labels making contributions are Baccarat crystal, Christofle goldsmiths and silversmiths, Bernardaud porcelain manufacturers, Goyard trunk makers and S.T. Dupont, creators of luxury personal objects. Dupont. Haute-de-gamme in its purest form, with creations such as the champagne cart from Veuve Clicquot in tribute to golf. Hermès, meanwhile, celebrates tennis with a crocodile racquet bag! As for Place Vendôme jeweler Boucheron, it has created a unique brooch for the occasion, again featuring our mythical reptile.
And we’ve left the best for last: Fauchon’s eclairs have been re-dressed to recall the texture of the famous cotton pique polo shirts. Happy birthday Lacoste!
