DAMIANI, MASTER GOLDSMITHS SINCE 1924
In 1924, Enrico Grassi Damiani set up his business in Valenza Po (in Italy’s Piedmont region), right in the heart of the goldsmiths’ heartland. His creative talent and undeniable expertise in goldsmithing led him to become the exclusive supplier to the great families and notables who commissioned his exceptional pieces.
Today, Damiani is the only Italian jeweller, and has been since its creation, to design, create and produce its jewelry in Italy.
Damiano Grassi Damiani died tragically in 1996, and was succeeded by his wife Gabriella, who was then appointed President, and their three children, who took over the running of the company, which at the time had some 200 employees.
Today, Gabriella Damiani is Honorary Chairman, Guido is Chairman and CEO, and Silvia and Giorgio are Vice-Chairmen.
DAMIANI GROUP BRANDS
Damiani is one of the few houses of international stature to have remained in the hands of the third generation, the founder’s children and grandchildren.
Over the years, new brands have been added to the collections, alongside the main Damiani Haute Joaillerie brand.
Damiani produces and distributes jewelry collections under license for Ferrari, Maserati, Ducati and John Galliano, to name but a few.
TRADITION AND HERITAGE
The history of the Damiani family is linked to the great tradition and absolute passion of a goldsmith in love with his art, who has succeeded in turning each object into an exclusive masterpiece, a collector’s item.
From an early age, the current directors, all descendants of the family, have been immersed in the workshop atmosphere, the choice of precious stones, and the various stages in the creation of a piece of jewelry. They learned the trade even before obtaining their diplomas and starting their careers with the company.
In her childhood memories, Silvia recalls the time spent in the Atelier on her way home from school, when, under her parents’ watchful eye, she would take a gold, emerald and diamond brooch, her “little green horse”, and apply it to her dress, facing the mirror.
Her brothers recall family vacations in Asia, guided by their father’s professional imperatives.
Unique craftsmanship and creative quality remain the watchwords of the brand, still manufactured in Valenza. Pearls, diamonds and precious stones from the descendants of their father’s suppliers.
INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
Damiani is the only jeweler to have won 18 Diamonds International Awards, 4 of which went to Calderoni, in 1960, 1977, 1978 and 1996.
Damiani has also been awarded numerous other prizes, including the Tahitian Pearl Trophy on two occasions, a Haute Couture Design Award, a Vogue Joyas and a number of awards relating to Enterprise and Communication.
From the early 80s, Damiani understood the importance of an ambassador’s role for the brand, hence the collaborations with Mila Jovovich, Jennifer Aniston, Isabella Rossellini, Natassja Kinski, Sophia Loren, Chiara Mastroiani, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sharon Stone, to name but a few.
Alessandro del Piero, Paris Hilton and Helen Frigo have represented other brands in the group.
